TABLE OF CONTENTS

1. Blurry or Out-of-Focus Image

  1. Go to Settings and confirm Auto-Focus is enabled.
  2. Give the projector a few seconds after powering on or moving it — auto-focus needs a moment to recalibrate on the new distance/angle.
  3. Fine-tune the focal length using the dedicated focus buttons on the remote — auto-focus units still let you nudge sharpness manually via remote.
  4. Make sure the projector is stable and not tilted at an extreme angle — auto-focus works best when the lens is roughly level with the screen.
  5. If the image is still not sharp, move the projector closer to or further from the screen — you may be outside the supported 1.2 – 4 m projection distance.
  6. If auto-focus repeatedly fails to lock or the image stays blurry after all the above, contact Portronics support — this likely indicates a hardware issue with the auto-focus sensor.

2. Distorted / Trapezoid (Keystone) Image

  • Go to Settings → Picture Correction and use the manual correction keys to square up the image.
  • Check that Auto Trapezoid Correction is enabled if you'd rather not adjust manually.
  • Make sure the projector is placed on a level, flat surface facing the screen directly — extreme up/down or side angles increase distortion beyond what auto-correction can fix.

3. No Picture / Projector Won't Turn On

  • Confirm the power cable is firmly connected and the outlet is live.
  • Press the ON/OFF button on the remote or the physical power switch on the unit — try both.
  • Check the lens cap has been removed.
  • If it powers on but shows nothing, verify you're on the correct input source (see Section 6 below).

4. Wi-Fi Won't Connect

  1. Go to Settings → Wi-Fi.
  2. Forget/reselect your network and re-enter the password carefully.
  3. Confirm the router is on the same 2.4GHz/5GHz band the projector supports (dual-band Wi-Fi).
  4. Restart the router if the network doesn't appear in the list.
  5. Move the projector closer to the router — thick walls or distance can weaken signal.

5. Bluetooth Won't Pair

  1. Go to Settings → Bluetooth and turn it on.
  2. Put your speaker/headphones into pairing mode separately.
  3. Select the device from the scanned list on the projector.
  4. If pairing repeatedly fails, remove/forget the device on both the projector and the other device, then retry.

Important Note:

  • Some Bluetooth devices may not connect due to compatibility limitations between devices
  • Certain devices may not work together even though they function properly with other devices

6. USB Media Not Detected / Won't Play

  • Reinsert the USB drive firmly; try a different USB port if available.
  • Confirm the drive is formatted in a widely supported file system (FAT3 are typically safest).
  • Check your file type is supported:
  • If a pop-up doesn't appear automatically, go to the Media Player app manually and select the USB drive as the source.
  • Try the file on another device to rule out a corrupted file.

7. Wrong Input Source / HDMI Not Showing

  • After connecting an HDMI source, press the signal input button on the remote to cycle to the HDMI input.
  • Confirm the connected device (laptop, streaming stick, etc.) is powered on and actively outputting video.
  • Try a different HDMI cable if the picture doesn't appear.

8. Screen Mirroring / Screen Sharing Fails

  • Both the phone and projector must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Use either the built-in screen-sharing app on the projector or a third-party mirroring app from your phone's app store.
  • Restart the mirroring app on both devices if the connection drops.
  • Some Android/iOS versions require enabling "Screen Cast" or "AirPlay/Miracast" separately in your phone's quick-settings panel.

9. Overheating or Unexpected Shutdown

  • Ensure at least 30 cm of clearance around the air inlet and outlet on all sides — this is the most common cause.
  • Check the air inlet dust screen isn't clogged; clean it with a soft brush or vacuum.
  • Confirm the dust removal window is closed properly.
  • Avoid using the projector in direct sunlight, enclosed cabinets, or near AC vents (temperature/moisture extremes).
  • Let the unit cool down fully before restarting.

10. Sound Issues (No Audio / Distorted Audio)

  • Check the volume isn't muted — use the remote's Mute/Volume buttons.
  • If using external audio, confirm the earphone-out cable or Bluetooth speaker is properly connected/paired.
  • Test with a different media file to rule out a codec issue — confirm the format is in the supported audio list above.

11. Remote Control Not Responding

  • Check batteries are inserted correctly and have charge.
  • Point the remote directly at the projector's IR receiver, removing obstructions.
  • Move closer to the unit and retry.
  • If the remote still doesn't work, contact support — configurations vary by unit and some models use Bluetooth remotes instead of IR.

12. Dot or Mark on Screen

  • A dot or mark on the projected image can appear due to overuse or prolonged/continuous usage without adequate rest.
  • Turn the projector off and let it cool down for a while before using it again.
  • Avoid running the unit for extended periods without breaks, especially in warm environments.
  • If the dot or mark persists after resting the unit, contact Portronics support for further inspection.

13. YouTube Not Working

  • Download and use the Smart YouTube app (available via the app store on the projector) instead of the default/pre-installed YouTube app.
  • Restart the app after installing, and confirm your internet connection is active.

14. Dust Accumulation Inside/On the Unit

  • Dust may accumulate on internal components over time with regular use, which can be normal.
  • If you notice dust affecting the picture quality or airflow, raise a support ticket — the Portronics team will inspect the unit and advise the appropriate next steps.
  • Do not attempt to open the casing yourself to clean internal dust (see Section 16 below on when to contact support).

15. Internet Connected but OTT Apps Not Working

  • This is typically caused by a pending system/app update or an incorrect time zone setting.
  • Go to Settings → System Update and check for and install any available updates.
  • Go to Settings → Date & Time and confirm the time zone matches your actual location — an incorrect time zone can cause OTT app login/streaming failures.
  • Restart the affected app after correcting the update/time zone.
  • If the issue continues, restart the projector fully and try again.

16. When to Contact Support

Do not open the projector casing yourself — internal components carry high voltage and a magnetic field, and repairs should only be handled by trained professionals. Contact Portronics if:

  • The issue persists after trying the steps above
  • You notice unusual smells, smoke, or sounds
  • Something has fallen inside the unit (power off immediately first)
  • The unit is still under warranty and needs a physical repair

17. Warranty & Support

Warranty: 12 months, covering product design, feature, and functionality-related faults. Damage due to physical impact, liquid exposure, fire, or misuse is not covered.
