1. Blurry or Out-of-Focus Image
The Beem 570 uses autofocus (no manual focus ring on the body).
- Give the projector a few seconds after powering on or moving it — autofocus needs a moment to recalibrate on the new distance/angle.
- Fine-tune sharpness using the Focus +/- buttons on the remote.
- Go to Settings → Lens → Autofocus settings and confirm "Automatically refocus when moved" and "Power-on autofocus" are enabled.
- Make sure the projector is level and facing the screen directly — the front camera relies on this for accurate auto-align and focus.
- Move the projector closer to or further from the screen if it still looks soft.
- If focus still fails to lock, contact Portronics support — this may indicate a hardware/sensor issue.
2. Distorted / Trapezoid (Keystone) Image
- Go to Settings → Lens → Keystone correction and confirm Auto Keystone Correction is enabled.
- Check Obstacle Recognition and Screen Recognition are also enabled — these help the projector auto-align to the screen.
- Ensure the projector is on a flat, stable surface facing the screen — extreme angles can exceed what auto-correction can fix.
3. No Picture / Projector Won't Turn On
- Confirm the power cable is firmly connected and the outlet is live.
- Press the Power button on the remote or the On/Off switch on the unit — try both.
- If it powers on but shows nothing, verify you're on the correct input source (see Section 7).
4. Wi-Fi Won't Connect
- Go to Settings → Network → Wi-Fi → Connect to Network.
- Reselect your network and re-enter the password carefully.
- Restart your router if the network doesn't appear in the list.
- Move the projector closer to the router — distance or thick walls can weaken the signal.
5. Bluetooth Won't Pair
- Go to Settings → Network → Bluetooth → Search for Bluetooth device.
- Put your speaker/headphones into pairing mode separately.
- Select the device from the scanned list.
- If pairing fails repeatedly, use Remove Bluetooth device to forget it on the projector, then retry.
- For the remote itself, re-pair by holding the Left and Right buttons together for 3 seconds while close to the projector.
Important Note:
- Some Bluetooth devices may not connect due to compatibility limitations between devices
- Certain devices may not work together even though they function properly with other devices
6. USB Media Not Detected / Won't Play
- Reinsert the USB drive firmly; try a different port if available.
- Confirm the drive is formatted in a widely supported file system (FAT32/exFAT/NTFS are typically safest).
- Open the Files app manually from the home screen and browse to the USB drive if no pop-up appears.
- Try the file on another device to rule out a corrupted file.
7. Wrong Input Source / HDMI Not Showing
- Press the Input button on the remote and select the HDMI source.
- Confirm the connected device (laptop, streaming stick, etc.) is powered on and actively outputting video.
- Try a different HDMI cable if the picture still doesn't appear.
8. Screen Mirroring / Whale OS Cast Fails
- Both the phone and projector must be on the same Wi-Fi network.
- Go to Settings → Device Preference → Whale OS Cast → TV Casting, and make sure the matching casting app is installed on your phone.
- Restart the casting app on both devices if the connection drops.
- Some Android/iOS versions require enabling "Screen Cast"/"AirPlay" separately in the phone's quick-settings panel.
9. Overheating or Unexpected Shutdown
- Keep at least 30 cm of clearance around the projector on all sides — this is the most common cause.
- Avoid enclosed cabinets or spaces without ventilation.
- Keep the unit on a stable, flat, dust-free surface.
- Avoid direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Let the unit cool down fully before restarting.
10. Sound Issues (No Audio / Distorted Audio)
- Check volume isn't muted via the remote's VOL buttons.
- Go to Settings → Sound and confirm the correct output device and format are selected.
- If using Bluetooth speaker mode, confirm pairing is active (see Section 5).
- Test a different media file to rule out a codec issue.
11. Remote Control Not Responding
- Check batteries are inserted correctly and have charge.
- Point the remote directly at the projector's IR receiver, removing obstructions.
- Move closer to the unit and retry.
- If it's a Bluetooth remote, re-pair by holding Left and Right together for 3 seconds near the projector.
12. Dot or Mark on Screen
- A dot or mark on the projected image can appear due to overuse or prolonged/delayed usage without adequate rest.
- Turn the projector off and let it cool down for a while before using it again.
- Avoid running the unit for extended periods without breaks, especially in warm environments.
- If the dot or mark persists after resting the unit, contact Portronics support for further inspection.
13. YouTube Not Working
- Download and use the Smart YouTube app (available via the app store on the projector) instead of the default/pre-installed YouTube app.
- Restart the app after installing, and confirm your internet connection is active.
14. Dust Accumulation Inside/On the Unit
- Dust may accumulate on internal components over time with regular use, which can be normal.
- If dust is affecting picture quality or airflow, raise a support ticket — the Portronics team will inspect the unit and advise the appropriate next steps.
- Do not attempt to clean internal dust yourself beyond the designated cleaning entrance (see Section 15 for when to contact support); avoid opening the main casing.
15. Internet Connected but OTT Apps Not Working
- This is typically caused by a pending system/app update or an incorrect time zone setting.
- Go to Settings → Software Update → Search for update and install any available updates.
- Go to Settings → Device Preference → Date & Time and confirm the time zone matches your actual location — an incorrect time zone can cause OTT app login/streaming failures.
- Restart the affected app after correcting the update/time zone.
- If the issue continues, restart the projector fully and try again.
16. When to Contact Support
Do not open the main projector casing yourself — internal components can pose a safety risk, and repairs should only be handled by trained professionals. Contact Portronics if:
- The issue persists after trying the steps above
- You notice unusual smells, smoke, or sounds
- Something has fallen inside the unit (power off immediately first)
- The unit is still under warranty and needs a physical repair
- Dust accumulation needs inspection (raise a support ticket as noted in Section 14)
15. Warranty & Support
Warranty: 12 months, covering product design, feature, and functionality-related faults. Damage due to physical impact, liquid exposure, fire, or misuse is not covered.
