1. Hub Is Not Detected by the Computer

  1. Disconnect the hub from the host device.
  2. Check the host USB-C port for damage or obstruction.
  3. Reconnect the hub firmly.
  4. Try another compatible USB-C port if available.
  5. Confirm the host supports USB-C accessories.
  6. If only the SSD is missing, check the SSD ON/OFF switch and LED.

2. M.2 SSD Is Not Recognized

  1. Turn off the SSD feature and disconnect the hub from the host and power source.
  2. Open the SSD cover.
  3. Confirm the SSD type is supported: M.2 NVMe or M.2 SATA.
  4. Check the key type: NVMe uses M-Key; SATA uses M-Key or B+M-Key.
  5. Confirm the SSD size is 2242, 2260 or 2280.
  6. Remove and reinsert the SSD at a slight angle, aligning the notch and connector.
  7. Secure the SSD screw gently and close the cover.
  8. Reconnect the hub, enable the SSD feature and check again.

Do not force the SSD into the slot.

3. SSD LED Is Blue or the Drive Appears Off

  • Blue LED: SSD feature is OFF.
  • White LED: SSD feature is ON and ready for use.

Use the SSD ON/OFF switch to enable the SSD. Do not switch it off while the drive is actively reading or writing data.

4. SSD Is Detected but Does Not Appear as a Usable Drive in Windows

A new drive may need to be initialized and formatted before it can be used.

  1. Connect the hub and turn on the SSD feature.
  2. Right-click This PC and choose Manage.
  3. Open Disk Management.
  4. Find the SSD; it may appear as Unallocated.
  5. Right-click the unallocated space and choose New Simple Volume.
  6. Follow the wizard and finish the setup.
  7. Check File Explorer for the new volume.

Important: Select the correct disk. Formatting or partitioning the wrong disk can erase data.

5. SSD Can Be Read but Not Written to on macOS

macOS may not support writing to NTFS drives by default.

Option A — Use ExFAT

  1. Back up any files you need to keep.
  2. Open Applications → Utilities → Disk Utility.
  3. Select the correct SSD and click Erase.
  4. Set the format to ExFAT and the scheme to GUID Partition Map.
  5. Click Erase and wait for completion.

Option B — Keep NTFS
Use a suitable third-party NTFS driver if you need to keep the drive in NTFS format.

Warning: Erasing or reformatting the SSD deletes stored data. Back up files first.

6. HDMI Display Has No Image

  1. Connect the monitor or TV to the hub's HDMI port.
  2. Select the correct HDMI input on the display.
  3. Check whether the host device's USB-C port supports display output.
  4. Open the host's display settings and select mirror or extend mode if available.
  5. Reconnect the HDMI cable if needed.

The HDMI port supports up to 4K at 30Hz. The USB-C data port does not provide video output.

7. USB-C Port Does Not Output Video

This is expected. The hub's USB-C 3.2 port is for data transfer only.

  • For an external display, use the hub's HDMI port.
  • Use the USB-C data port for supported data-transfer devices.
  • The separate USB-C PD port is for charging only.

8. USB Data Transfer Is Slow

  1. Check whether the device is connected to USB 3.2, USB 2.0 or the USB-C data port.
  2. Use a compatible high-speed device and cable.
  3. Avoid USB 2.0 when high-speed transfer is required.
  4. Confirm the source and target storage devices support the expected speeds.

Port capabilities:

  • USB-A 3.2: up to 10Gbps.
  • USB-C 3.2 data: up to 10Gbps.
  • USB 2.0: up to 480Mbps.

Actual speeds depend on the connected device and workload.

9. SD or microSD Card Is Not Detected

  1. Confirm you are using the correct SD or TF/microSD slot.
  2. Insert the card fully and in the correct orientation.
  3. Wait for the host device to recognize it.
  4. Remove and reinsert the card if necessary.
  5. Safely eject the card before removing it.

10. Laptop Is Not Charging Through the Hub

  1. Connect the charger to the hub's USB-C PD charging port, not the USB-C data port.
  2. Use a USB-C wall charger that supports the required PD output.
  3. Use a USB-C-to-USB-C cable rated for the intended power.
  4. Check that the host device supports USB-C Power Delivery charging.
  5. Ensure all connections are firmly seated.

The PD port is for charging only and does not transfer data. Actual charging power depends on the charger, cable and host device.

11. File Transfers Stop or the SSD Disconnects

  1. Check that the SSD is secured correctly in its slot.
  2. Confirm the hub's host connection is stable.
  3. Do not toggle the SSD ON/OFF switch during file transfers.
  4. Avoid disconnecting the hub or removing cards during active read/write operations.
  5. If the drive keeps disconnecting, back up accessible data and check the SSD installation.
