1. Hub Is Not Detected

  1. Disconnect the hub.
  2. Check the host USB-C port for damage or obstruction.
  3. Reconnect Mport 51 securely.
  4. Try another compatible USB-C port if available.
  5. Disconnect extra accessories and test one at a time.
  6. Try another compatible host device if possible.

2. HDMI Display Has No Image

  1. Check the HDMI cable at both ends.
  2. Select the correct HDMI input on the display.
  3. Confirm the host USB-C port supports video output; the product listing specifies Thunderbolt 3.0 or higher for display.
  4. Check display settings on the host.
  5. Try another compatible HDMI cable or display.

A USB-C port that supports charging or data does not necessarily support video output.

3. HDMI Resolution Is Limited

Mport 51 supports up to 4K × 2K at 30Hz. Actual output depends on all connected devices.

  1. Check the host's maximum external-display resolution.
  2. Check the display's resolution and refresh-rate capability.
  3. Use a suitable HDMI cable.
  4. Select a supported resolution in display settings.
  5. Test a lower supported resolution if required.

4. USB Device Is Not Detected

  1. Connect the accessory to a USB data port, not the USB-C PD port.
  2. Reconnect the accessory.
  3. Try the USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 port as appropriate.
  4. Check whether the accessory needs its own power or driver.
  5. Test another USB device to identify whether the issue is with the accessory or hub.

5. USB Transfer Is Slow

USB 3.0 supports up to 5Gbps, depending on the connected device and workload.

  1. Connect the high-speed device to USB 3.0.
  2. Confirm the device and its cable support high-speed transfer.
  3. Avoid USB 2.0 for devices that need higher speeds.
  4. Test with another file or compatible storage device.

6. Ethernet Does Not Work

  1. Connect Ethernet from the router/network outlet to the RJ45 port.
  2. Check that the cable is fully inserted.
  3. Check link lights on the router/network port, if available.
  4. Check network settings on the host.
  5. Try another Ethernet cable or router port.

The RJ45 port supports up to 100Mbps; actual speed depends on the network, router, cable and host.

7. Host Device Does Not Charge

  1. Connect Mport 51 to the host.
  2. Connect a compatible USB-C PD charger to the hub's PD port.
  3. Confirm the host supports USB-C PD charging.
  4. Check the charger and cable rating.
  5. Check the host charging indicator.

The listed output is up to 87W under compatible conditions. Actual charging power varies with the charger, cable and host.

8. USB-C PD Port Does Not Transfer Data

This is expected. The PD port is dedicated to charging pass-through.

  • Use USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 for data devices.
  • Use HDMI for video output.
  • Use RJ45 for wired network connectivity.

9. Some Features Work but Others Do Not

The host USB-C port must support each feature:

  • HDMI requires video-output support.
  • USB peripherals require USB data support.
  • Charging requires USB-C PD input support.
  • Ethernet requires host network-adapter support.

10. Connections Drop Intermittently

  1. Check that the integrated USB-C plug is fully seated.
  2. Make sure HDMI, USB and Ethernet cables are not pulling on the hub.
  3. Avoid sharply bending or twisting the short host cable.
  4. Test with fewer connected devices.
  5. Check whether the issue occurs with another compatible host.
