This guide covers common issues you may run into with your Beem 560 and how to resolve them.

TABLE OF CONTENTS

Issue 1: Screen Is Not Clear / Blurry

Checks:

  • Go to Settings > Lens > Autofocus Settings on the homepage and enable/re-trigger autofocus
  • Press the Focus button on the remote control to fine-tune clarity
  • Ensure the projector is placed horizontally relative to the screen, as advised in the manual
  • Maintain an appropriate projection distance for your screen size (up to 100")
  • Use the projector in a dark room for the best contrast and clarity

Issue 2: Projector Not Powering ON

Checks:

  • Check the power cable connection at both the projector and the wall outlet
  • Confirm the power outlet is working
  • Ensure the projector isn't in an area exposed to extreme temperatures, which the manual notes can cause malfunctions.
  • Try a different power outlet or cable if available

Issue 3: Projector Overheating / Shuts Down During Use

Checks:

  • Ensure there are no obstacles within 30 cm of the projector's air inlet and outlet, as required in the manual
  • Confirm the dust removal window is fully closed — leaving it open can cause serious damage and airflow issues
  • Clean the air inlet dust screen regularly with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner to prevent blockage
  • Avoid installing the projector near direct air conditioning, in enclosed spaces, or in high-temperature areas
  • After use, avoid touching the exhaust vent area directly, as it may be hot

Issue 4: Screen Is Tilted or Distorted

Checks:

  • Go to Settings > Lens and enable Keystone Correction
  • Use Digital Zoom if needed for fine-tuning the image size and shape
  • Ensure the projector is on a flat, level surface facing the screen straight-on

Issue 5: Dust Spots / Dark Dots Visible on the Projected Image

Checks:

  • Regularly clean the air inlet dust screen using a soft brush, vacuum cleaner, or similar tool as recommended in the manual
  • Gently wipe the external lens with a soft, dry cloth — avoid liquids or abrasive materials directly on the lens
  • If dark spots persist after external and dust-screen cleaning, dust may have settled internally — do not open the projector casing yourself, as internal maintenance should only be done by trained professionals; contact us instead

Issue 6: Wi-Fi Not Connecting

Checks:

  • Go to Settings > Network > Wi-Fi > Connect to Network, re-select your network, and re-enter the correct password
  • Restart both the projector and your Wi-Fi router
  • Move the projector closer to the router for a stronger signal

Issue 7: Bluetooth Device Not Connecting

Checks:

  • Go to Settings > Network > Bluetooth, select Search for Bluetooth Device, and re-pair
  • Restart both the projector and the Bluetooth device
  • Keep both devices within close range during pairing

Important Note:

  • Some Bluetooth devices may not connect due to compatibility limitations between devices
  • Certain devices may not work together even though they function properly with other devices

Issue 8: Remote Control Not Responding / Won't Pair

Checks:

  • Keep the remote controller close to the projector
  • Press and hold both the Left and Right buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds to trigger automatic pairing
  • Press the Voice Input button to bring up the matching guide if the interface varies
  • Replace the remote's batteries if it remains unresponsive

Issue 9: Whale OS Cast / Screen Casting Not Working

Checks:

  • Confirm your phone and the projector are connected to the same Wi-Fi network
  • Go to Settings > Device Preferences > Whale OS Cast > TV Casting and ensure the TV Casting app is properly downloaded on your phone
  • Search for the projector's device name again on your phone and reselect it
  • Restart both the projector and your phone if the connection fails

Issue 10: Internet Connected but Apps Not Working

Checks:

  • Confirm the Wi-Fi connection is stable, not just "saved" — a weak signal can show as connected while failing to load content
  • Go to Settings > App Setting, select the affected app, and check/clear its data or permissions
  • Restart the projector to refresh the network connection
  • Check Settings > Software Update for a pending system update, since outdated software can affect app compatibility
  • If only one app fails while others work fine, try logging out and back into that app's account

Issue 11: No Sound / Low Volume

Checks:

  • Go to Settings > Sound and check the sound balance, output device, and output format settings
  • Confirm the correct output device is selected (internal speaker vs. Bluetooth/external)
  • Increase volume using the remote's Volume +/- buttons
  • If using Bluetooth Speaker Mode, confirm the connected speaker/phone is properly paired

Issue 12: Bluetooth Speaker Mode Not Working

Checks:

  • Tap the Bluetooth Speaker icon on the desktop to enter speaker mode
  • On your phone, search for the projector's name and pair/connect
  • If you only need audio, select Turn Off Screen to conserve power while keeping audio active
  • Press Back to exit speaker mode if it becomes unresponsive, then retry pairing

Issue 13: File Playback from USB Not Working

Checks:

  • Confirm the U disk (USB drive) is properly inserted
  • Tap the File icon on the homepage to browse contents
  • Confirm the file format is supported (video, audio, or picture files)
  • Try a different USB drive or re-format the drive to a common file system (e.g., FAT32) if files aren't detected

Issue 14: Voice Service / Voice Commands Not Responding

Checks:

  • Go to Settings > Voice Service and confirm the correct language is selected
  • Ensure the projector has an active internet connection, since voice recognition may require it
  • Restart the projector if voice commands remain unresponsive

Issue 15: Software Update Failing or Stuck

Checks:

  • Confirm a stable Wi-Fi connection before starting the update via Settings > Software Update
  • Do not power off the projector during an update
  • Restart the projector and retry the update if it fails
  • Check current software version listed under Software Update to confirm whether the update actually applied
