1. Microphone Not Powering On
- Long press the Power (⏻) button for a full 2 seconds — a short tap won't register.
- Charge the unit for at least 30 minutes using the supplied USB-C cable, then retry. A fully drained 18650 battery can take a moment before it responds.
- Try a different USB-C cable/adaptor (5V/1A) in case the original cable is faulty.
- Check the power button light while plugged in — if there's no red charging light at all, the battery or charging circuit may need inspection.
2. Not Pairing / Not Found in Bluetooth List
- Make sure the microphone is powered on and not already connected to another device — disconnect it from any previously paired phone first.
- On your phone, turn Bluetooth off and back on, then search again for "Dash 2".
- Move the microphone within 1–2 metres of your phone for the initial pairing.
- Short press the Bluetooth button twice to clear the current connection before pairing with a new device.
- Forget "Dash 2" from your phone's Bluetooth settings and pair again from scratch.
- Restart both the microphone (power off/on) and your phone, then retry pairing.
3. Bluetooth Connects but No Sound
- Confirm your phone's media volume is turned up, not just the call volume.
- Short press the Power (⏻) button to check whether the volume control is currently set to microphone volume instead of music volume, then use +/– to raise it.
- Play audio from a different app to rule out an app-specific issue.
- Disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth pairing.
- Check that headphones aren't still plugged into the headphone port — this reroutes audio away from the speaker.
4. No Voice Through the Microphone
- Make sure you're speaking/singing into the correct end of the mic (the speaker grille end, not the base).
- Short press the M button to confirm the mic isn't set to a mode that suppresses input.
- Check that Voice Cancelling (the Ø button) hasn't been long-pressed accidentally, which suppresses vocals in playback — this is separate from your live mic input, so also confirm the mic volume via the Power (⏻) short press + +/– buttons.
- If headphones or AUX cable are connected, your voice will route there instead of the speaker — unplug to test on the built-in speaker.
5. Sound Cuts Out / Keeps Disconnecting
- Keep the microphone within the rated Bluetooth range — 10m in single mode, 5m in TWS mode — with a clear line of sight to your phone.
- Move away from other Bluetooth/Wi-Fi devices and microwave ovens, which can cause interference.
- Check the battery level — low battery can cause intermittent cutouts; charge fully and retest.
- Update or restart the music/karaoke app on your phone.
- Re-pair the Bluetooth connection from scratch.
6. TWS / Duet Mode Won't Pair
- TWS/duet mode only works while both microphones are in Bluetooth mode — confirm neither is in Aux-in or FM mode.
- Power on both Dash 2 units first, then long press the Bluetooth button on both simultaneously for 3 seconds until both prompt "searching for connection."
- Keep the two microphones close together (within 1–2 metres) during pairing.
- If one unit was previously paired to a phone, disconnect that pairing first (short press Bluetooth twice) before starting TWS pairing.
- Power off both units and retry the simultaneous long-press pairing from the start.
7. FM Transmitter Has Static or Won't Broadcast
- Confirm your car stereo/FM receiver is tuned to the exact same frequency as the microphone: 87.9MHz, 88.5MHz, or 89.7MHz.
- Long press the M button to cycle the microphone to a different one of the 3 frequencies, in case the current one is already occupied by a local FM station in your area.
- Only one frequency can be matched at a time — make sure no other device nearby is also transmitting on the same frequency.
- Move the microphone closer to the receiving radio/car system.
8. Aux-in / Headphone Mode Not Working
- In Aux-in mode, audio only plays through connected 3.5mm headphones, not the built-in speaker — this is expected behaviour, not a fault.
- Make sure the AUX cable is fully inserted at both ends.
- Aux-in mode supports original sound effect only — other sound modes won't apply here.
- For headphone mode, the microphone must first be connected via Bluetooth, then headphones inserted into the headphone port — plugging in headphones alone won't route audio without an active Bluetooth connection.
- Try a different pair of 3.5mm headphones/cable to rule out a faulty cable.
9. Voice Cancelling Not Removing Vocals
- Voice cancelling effectiveness depends on the source track — it works best on standard stereo music with a centred vocal track, and may not fully remove vocals on all songs.
- Long press the Ø button again to confirm the feature is toggled on (it also toggles it back off, restoring vocals).
- Make sure you're playing music through Bluetooth, not through the microphone's own recording input.
10. LED Lights Not Working
- Long press the ☀ button for 2 seconds to turn the LED lighting on — a short press only cycles between modes and won't turn lights on from off.
- Confirm the microphone is powered on and charged.
- Short press the ☀ button repeatedly to cycle through all 4 modes (flow, breathing, nightlight, rhythm) in case it's stuck on a very dim mode.
11. Not Charging / Battery Drains Fast
- Use a good-quality 5V/1A adaptor and the supplied USB-C cable — under-rated chargers can charge very slowly or not at all.
- Confirm the red charging light is on; it turns off automatically once fully charged.
- Avoid charging in sub-zero environments, which can damage the battery and affect charge retention.
- If the battery is draining unusually fast, check that the microphone isn't being left on and unused — with no signal for 20 minutes it auto-shuts-off, but active idle time still drains the battery.
- Charge the unit at least once a month if it isn't in regular use, to protect long-term battery health.
12. Microphone Shuts Off by Itself
- This is expected if there has been no signal input for 20 minutes — the microphone auto-shuts-down to save power.
- In TWS mode, powering off one unit automatically powers off the paired unit too — this is normal, not a fault.
- Check the battery level — the unit may be shutting down due to critically low charge rather than a timeout.
13. Distorted or Muffled Audio
- Lower the volume slightly — pushing the speaker to maximum volume on bass-heavy tracks can introduce distortion.
- If the battery is below 30%, the microphone automatically reduces power to protect the battery, which can make audio sound quieter or less punchy — charge the unit to restore full output.
- Try a different sound mode (Karaoke, Professional, Speech, Original Sound) via a short press of the M button — some modes suit certain audio better than others.
- Check that the speaker grille isn't obstructed or covered.
