1. Quick Reference Table
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Inflator does not start | Battery is low | Charge the battery fully |
| Inflation is slow | Nozzle not attached properly | Ensure a secure connection |
| Inflator stops suddenly | Overheating protection activated | Allow it to cool down |
2. Pressure Unit Mismatch (BAR vs. PSI)
If the target/preset pressure looks far too high or too low — for example the inflator stops well short of a full tyre, or doesn't stop at all — the unit may be set to the wrong scale (e.g. BAR selected when you meant PSI, or vice versa). The units are not interchangeable 1:1 (1 BAR ≈ 14.5 PSI).
Fix:
- Press and hold the "Mode" button to cycle through the pressure units (PSI / BAR / KPA).
- Stop on the correct unit for your use case (PSI is standard for most car and bike tyres).
- Use "+" or "–" to re-enter your desired target pressure, and wait until the numbers stop flashing.
- Confirm the unit shown on the display before pressing "Start" to begin inflation.
3. Selecting the Wrong Inflation Mode
Vayu 9.0 cycles through 5 modes: Car, Motorcycle, Bicycle, Ball, and Custom. Inflating with the wrong mode selected can lead to under- or over-inflation relative to what you intended.
Fix:
- Press the "Mode" button (short press, after the unit is set) to cycle through the inflation modes.
- Select the mode that matches what you're inflating, or Custom for a manual target.
- Set the target pressure with "+"/"–" before pressing "Start."
4. Corded (Cigarette Lighter) Mode Not Working
If the device won't power on or inflate while using the cigarette lighter power cord:
- Confirm the car engine has been started first.
- Check the power cord is fully and securely connected to both the tire inflator and the vehicle's 12V socket.
- Ensure the air hose is properly connected to the inflator and the tire valve.
- Press and hold the "Power" button to switch the device on before selecting mode and pressure.
5. Overheating / Continuous Use
- Allow the device to cool down after extended use to avoid overheating.
- If the inflator stops suddenly mid-task, this is usually the overheating protection activating — let it rest before resuming.
6. Battery & Charging Notes
| Battery Mark State | Charge Level |
|---|---|
| First mark only | 100% > power > 70% |
| Second mark | 70% > power > 40% |
| Third mark | 40% > power > 10% |
| Third mark flashing | Below 10% — recharge immediately |
- Fully charge the battery before using it for the first time.
- Charge via the Type-C charging port using the supplied cable.
- Note: the USB 5V 1A output on this device cannot be used as a charging bank — it's for accessory power only, not general device charging.
7. General Safety Reminders
- Use the inflator only for its intended purposes.
- Do not inflate objects beyond their recommended pressure limits.
- Avoid operating the inflator in extreme temperatures or near flammable materials.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Store the inflator in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place; do not expose it to water or other liquids.
