1. Quick Reference Table
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Won't turn on | Battery discharged | Charge via a 5V/1–3A charger for ~4 hours, then long-press Power |
| Won't turn off / unresponsive | Software hang | Short-press the RESET button (in the AUX port) with a small round pin |
| Won't pair over Bluetooth | Not in pairing mode | Long-press Power to restart; activate Bluetooth on your phone and search again |
| TWS won't link two speakers | Different batches, or not both in BT mode | Confirm both units are the same batch and both in Bluetooth mode before long-pressing Mode |
| No sound from mic during calls | Not connected via Bluetooth | Hands-free calling only works over an active Bluetooth connection |
| Volume/track buttons doing the wrong thing | Press length confused | Short press adjusts volume; long press changes track (in Bluetooth mode) |
| Speaker won't charge | Used while charging | Stop using the speaker while it's charging to protect the battery and allow normal charging |
| Light modes won't cycle | Wrong button, or wrong press length | Long-press Play/Pause to cycle the three light modes and turn lighting on/off |
2. Speaker Won't Turn On
- Long-press the Power button and check for a response.
- Connect a 5V/1–3A charger (not included) or a PC to the Type-C Charging Jack — a full charge takes about 4 hours.
- Avoid using the speaker while it charges, as this is discouraged for battery protection.
- If there's still no response after charging, this may point to a hardware fault — contact support.
3. Speaker Won't Turn Off or Respond to Buttons
Fix: use a small round pin to short-press the RESET button, located inside the AUX port. This resets the speaker without needing to wait for the battery to drain.
4. Won't Pair Over Bluetooth
- Long-press the Power button to turn the speaker on.
- On your phone, activate Bluetooth and search for "Resound 2."
- If it won't connect, short-press the Backward and Forward buttons together to disconnect any existing Bluetooth connection, then search and pair again.
- Stay within the 10m Bluetooth range during pairing.
5. TWS Mode Won't Link Two Speakers
- Turn on two identical Resound 2 speakers, both in Bluetooth mode.
- On one speaker, long-press the Mode button — listen for a tone confirming pairing has started, followed by a second tone once successfully paired.
- Check the batch/date code on both units — TWS pairing is only guaranteed between two Resound 2 speakers from the same production batch.
- To disconnect TWS, long-press the Mode button again on either speaker.
6. AUX Mode Issues
- Connect a 3.5mm cable to the AUX port and press the Mode button to switch to AUX mode.
- In AUX mode, Play/Pause mutes the speaker rather than pausing playback — this is different from Bluetooth mode behavior, and is expected.
- Volume Up/Down only support short presses in AUX mode — long presses have no function here (unlike in Bluetooth mode, where they skip tracks).
- Control actual playback (play/pause/skip) from the connected source device.
7. Hands-Free Calling Not Working
- Confirm the speaker is connected to your phone via Bluetooth — this feature doesn't work in AUX or USB mode.
- To accept a call: short-press Play/Pause.
- To reject a call: long-press Play/Pause.
- During a call, to switch to your phone: long-press Play/Pause.
- To end a call: short-press Play/Pause.
- If callers can't hear you clearly, check nothing is covering the Mic Hole and that you're within Bluetooth range.
8. USB Playback Issues
- Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port.
- Short-press the Mode button to switch to USB mode if it doesn't switch automatically.
- If nothing plays, check the file format is commonly supported and test the drive in another device.
9. RGB Lighting Not Changing
Long-press the Play/Pause button to cycle through the three light modes, and to turn the lighting on or off entirely. This is the same button used for play/pause, distinguished only by press length.
10. Charging Issues
- Use a standard 5V/1–3A charger, or charge via a PC — no charger is included in the box.
- A full charge takes about 4 hours.
- Avoid using the speaker while charging, both to protect the battery and because this isn't recommended in the manual.
- If it won't charge at all, try a different cable or power source before assuming a hardware fault.
11. General Safety Reminders
- Always place the speaker in a safe, stable location.
- Avoid excessive pressure on the speaker or its accessories.
- Switch off and unplug the speaker when not in use.
- Do not attempt to repair a defective unit yourself.
- Keep the speaker away from water to avoid internal damage.
