Section A: Connecting via 2.4 GHz USB Receiver
Step 1: Switch the Toggle Mode
Slide the toggle switch (located on the back side of the keyboard) to BT Mode to power on the keyboard.
Step 2: Insert the USB Receiver
Insert the USB receiver (dongle) into the USB port of your laptop or desktop.
Step 3: Connect Using RF Key
Press Fn + R (where RF is indicated on the keyboard).
The keyboard will automatically connect via the 2.4 GHz USB receiver.
Step 4: Confirmation
Once connected, the keyboard will start responding normally while typing.
Troubleshooting (2.4 GHz USB Receiver Mode)
Issue 1: Keyboard Not Connecting via USB Receiver
Recommended Checks:
Ensure the keyboard is powered ON.
Confirm the toggle switch is set to BT Mode.
Reinsert the USB receiver properly into the USB port.
Try connecting the receiver to another USB port.
Restart your laptop or desktop and reconnect the receiver.
Issue 2: Keyboard Connected but Not Typing
Recommended Checks:
Press Fn + R again to reconnect the keyboard.
Remove and reinsert the USB receiver.
Restart the system and reconnect the keyboard.
Ensure the keyboard has sufficient battery charge.
Issue 3: Frequent Disconnection in 2.4 GHz Mode
Recommended Checks:
Ensure the keyboard is within 5–8 meters of the connected device.
Avoid wireless interference or obstacles between the keyboard and receiver.
Reinsert the USB receiver and reconnect using Fn + R.
Fully charge the keyboard and test again.
Section B: Connecting via Bluetooth
Step 1: Switch the Toggle to BT Mode
Slide the toggle switch to BT Mode.
Step 2: Select Bluetooth Channel
Use the following key combinations to select a Bluetooth device channel:
Fn + Q → BT1 Mode
Fn + W → BT2 Mode
Fn + E → BT3 Mode
Step 3: Activate Pairing Mode
Press and hold the selected Bluetooth key (Fn + Q / W / E) for 3–5 seconds.
The indicator light will start blinking rapidly, indicating that the keyboard has entered Bluetooth pairing mode.
Step 4: Enable Bluetooth on Your Device
For Windows
Go to Settings → Bluetooth & Devices
Turn Bluetooth ON
Click Add Device → Bluetooth
Select Portronics Hydra 10
Click Connect
For macOS
Open System Settings → Bluetooth
Turn Bluetooth ON
Select Portronics Hydra 10
Click Connect
Step 5: Connection Confirmation
Once connected, the keyboard will respond while typing.
The keyboard is now ready for use.
Troubleshooting (Bluetooth Mode)
Issue 1: Keyboard Not Appearing in Bluetooth List
Recommended Checks:
Ensure the keyboard is in Bluetooth pairing mode (indicator light blinking).
Turn Bluetooth OFF and ON on your device.
Restart the keyboard and attempt pairing again.
Ensure the keyboard has sufficient battery charge.
Issue 2: Keyboard Connected but Not Responding
Recommended Checks:
Remove the keyboard from the Bluetooth device list.
Restart your device (laptop/PC).
Repeat the Bluetooth pairing steps.
Ensure the keyboard is not connected to another device.
Issue 3: Frequent Disconnection in Bluetooth Mode
Recommended Checks:
Maintain a distance within 5–8 meters from the connected device.
Avoid wireless interference or obstacles.
Fully charge the keyboard and reconnect.
Remove and reconnect the keyboard from paired Bluetooth devices.
