1. Quick Reference Table
| Problem | Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Won't turn on | Battery discharged | Charge via the supplied cable, then long-press the Power button |
| No sound in Game Mode (2.4G) | Dongle not connected, or wrong mode selected | Plug in the USB-A or Type-C transmitter; long-press the mode button to switch to 2.4G |
| Won't pair over Bluetooth | Not in pairing mode | Long-press the Power button 2 seconds until red & white lights flash alternately |
| Lights flashing red & white | Disconnected from dongle, or out of Bluetooth range | Move within 10m of the source device; reinsert the dongle |
| Microphone not picking up voice | Mic muted, or detachable boom mic not attached | Click the Mode button to check mic on/off status; confirm the boom mic is firmly attached |
| Headset shuts off on its own | Auto shutdown after 5 minutes of inactivity | Normal behavior — press the Power button to wake it |
| No sound at all while charging | Expected — auto power-off | The headset automatically powers off while charging |
2. Headset Won't Turn On
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button for a full 2 seconds — a short press won't register.
- Charge the headset using the supplied cable; while charging, the light should show solid red, switching to solid blue once fully charged.
- If there's no light activity at all on a known-working cable, this points to a hardware fault — contact support.
3. No Sound / Won't Connect in 2.4G Game Mode
- Plug the USB-A or Type-C transmitter into your device.
- Long-press the mode button on the headphones to switch to 2.4G mode.
- The headphones should connect automatically — a white light stays on once connected.
- If the light flashes red and white instead, the dongle may be removed, loose, or out of range — reseat it and stay within 10m.
- If it still won't connect, press and hold the ON/OFF button for 2 seconds to re-enter pairing mode (red and white lights flash alternately during pairing).
4. Won't Pair Over Bluetooth
- Long-press the mode button to switch the headphones to Bluetooth mode.
- On your phone or computer, open Bluetooth settings and select "Muffs M7" from the list.
- If it doesn't appear, try turning the headset off and back on to re-trigger discovery, and make sure it isn't currently connected to another device (Muffs M7 supports dual pairing, so check your other paired devices too).
5. Headset Keeps Disconnecting
- In 2.4G mode: if you move more than ~10m from the dongle, the headset disconnects automatically (red and white lights flash alternately). Moving back within range within 5 minutes triggers an automatic reconnect.
- General: after powering on, the headset automatically reconnects to the last paired device — if it's not doing so, power-cycle the headset and try reconnecting manually from your device's Bluetooth or dongle software.
6. Microphone Issues
- Click the Mode button once to toggle the microphone on or off — listen for the "Mic Mute" / "Mic On" voice prompt to confirm the current state.
- Muffs M7 has both a built-in mic and a detachable boom mic — check that the boom mic is firmly and correctly attached if you're relying on it for clearer pickup.
- Stay within the 10m working range of your paired device or dongle for a stable connection.
7. Volume & Track Controls Not Responding
| Action | Control |
|---|---|
| Volume up | Short press V+ |
| Volume down | Short press V− |
| Next track | Long press V+ (2 sec) |
| Previous track | Long press V− (2 sec) |
| Play/Pause | Short press the ON/OFF button |
If you hear a "Max Volume" sound, you've already reached the highest volume level — this isn't a fault.
8. Headset Turns Off Unexpectedly
- After 5 minutes of inactivity: this is the auto-shutdown feature saving battery — simply press the Power button to turn it back on.
- When you plug in an audio cable: the headset automatically powers off and switches to AUX/Wired Mode — this is expected behavior, not a malfunction.
- While charging: the headset automatically powers off during charging.
9. Charging Issues
- While charging: the red light stays on.
- Fully charged: the light switches to solid blue.
- Use only the supplied charging cable at 5V/1A for reliable charging.
